第五批国际人才交流引进项目征集

南方科技大学前沿与交叉科学研究院(以下简称交叉研究院)，致力于促进不同学科的交叉融合和大型实验仪器的平台共享，提倡思想交流碰撞以突破完成单一学科难以解决的科学与技术课题。为提高南科大的国际化办学程度和学术交流，南科大交叉研究院将通过组织安排国际人才交流引进项目，协助各院系课题组邀请具有高度科研创造力、处于学术休假期（sabbatical）的教授到南科大访问交流。此次计划开放邀请十名（10）访问教授名额。

拟申报的学术休假教授邀请交流访问须具有以下特点：

（1）访问教授须由南科大PI作为挂靠课题组；

（2）拟邀请的访问教授出自世界前一百名的大学、研究院、及国家实验室，具有公认的高端学术水平，处于科研成果的高产出阶段；

（3）重点考虑刚刚获得终身教职（Assistant Prof. promoted to Associate Prof.）、年龄在40岁上下，第一期学术休假的年轻教授；

（4）拟邀请的访问教授须以半年到一年的连续稳定时间在南科大从事访问交流和教学研究;

申报的邀请访问项目经过竞争评审成功立项后，交叉研究院与课题组将共同协议：

（1）所邀请的访问教授劳务费为每天税前2000元RMB，按每月实际工作日支付，每月上限税前5万元RMB；

（2）为所邀请的访问教授报销一次报到和离职差旅费；

（3）在南科大访问交流时间9-12个月的，每位访问教授配套RMB 9万元科研经费，分三次下拨，每次下拨3万元；访问时间为6-8个月的，每位访问教授配套RMB 6万元科研经费，分两次发放，每次下拨3万元；科研经费使用范围限于购买科研耗材和参加国内学术会议相关支出（不可支出人员劳务费），在访问开始时第一次下拨，此后每三个月下拨一次。

（4）为加强挂靠院系和课题组对访问教授的管理参与度，访问教授的费用（包括所有补贴费用和科研经费），由交叉研究院承担75%，挂靠院系/课题组承担25%。

（5）挂靠课题组为访问教授提供办公及实验室空间及设备，并提供租房辅助等生活配套。

受邀的学术休假访问教授所承担的义务包括：

（1）承诺在访问期间和之后，发表的科研成果中，如涉及到在南科大完成的科研工作，须以交叉研究院为署名单位之一，或在致谢中表明受南科大学术休假访问教授基金资助（具体表述见英文版call的相应内容）；

（2）积极参加交叉研究院举办的各种学术报告与交流活动，积极与院系学科互通信息，交叉融合。

（3）访问交流结束时参加交叉研究院组织的国际访问教授论坛，展示访问期间的学术成果，并撰写成正式文章或报告发表。

（4）访问时长超过9个月的，需开设一门高年级本科生或者研究生课程；请课题组协助申请所在院系课程培养计划，并在申报书中补充教学大纲。

（5）访问时间在6-9个月的，期望将访问期间的科研成果撰写成一篇文章发表；9个月以上的，期望能发表两篇文章（包括专利、指导学生的文章等，不严格要求第一作者）；挂靠PI提出申请时，请明确此考核标准并后期督促落实。

The Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies at the Southern University of Science and Technology (hereafter referred to as SUSTech Academy) promotes interdisciplinary research through the exchange of ideas beyond the disciplinary boundaries to accelerate scientific discoveries and the utilization of core research facilities. Guided by the SUSTech strategic plan for internationalization and global engagement, SUSTech Academy invites applications for the Sabbatical Visiting Scholar Program to collaborate with SUSTech faculty member(s). Visiting Scholars are expected to complete a residency requirement to 6 to 12 months full time equivalent at SUSTech. The 2019 Sabbatical Visiting Scholar Program has 10 openings. All SUSTech faculty members are encouraged to nominate candidates according to the qualifications as follows. The faculty sponsors at SUSTech are required to provide office space, access to laboratory, necessarily matching fund and any other necessary facilities for the visiting scholars.

Qualifications
1. All candidates should be nominated by a SUSTech full time faculty member;
2. Candidates should hold faculty positions or equivalent in the world’s top 100 universities, prestigious independent research institutions or government laboratories with an excellent reputation for academic excellence;
3. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of research achievements;
4. Priority will be given to candidates under the age of 40 who have recently received tenure, are in the productive stage of their career, and are planning for their first-time sabbatical leave.

Compensation and Benefit
SUSTech will provide the following financial support to Sabbatical Visiting Scholars:
1. A subsidy of CNY 2000 per workday (up to pre-tax monthly of CNY 50,000);
2. Reimbursement of international airfares for arrival and leave once;
3. A research budget of CNY 90,000 for a residency period between 9-12 months, and a research budget of CNY 60,000 for a residency period between 6-8 months, available on quarterly basis. Such funding can be used for domestic (within mainland China only) travels for academic conferences and experimental consumable materials (not applicable for working personnel expenses), subject to financial regulations at SUSTech;

Obligations
Sabbatical Visiting Scholars are expected to fulfill the following obligations:
1. If the majority or part of the research resulted from the financial support from the SUSTech Academy during the residency, visiting scholars are required to list SUSTech Academy as one of their affiliations，or add “This work is partially supported by SUSTech sabbatical visiting scholar grant” in acknowledgement for joint publications with SUSTech faculty;
2. Participate in Sabbatical Visiting Scholar forum to deliver a presentation at the end of the residency. Complete a final written report that can also be journal publication(s) or other scholarly product acknowledging SUSTech Academy as described in Items 1 and 2. Brief progress reports on a quarterly basis are also required;
3. Teach one senior-undergraduate or graduate course if the residency period is longer than 9 months; please provide syllabus in the proposal, and the faculty sponsor should help to apply for the teaching plan in corresponding department/school.
4. One joint publication/patent with SUSTech faculty ( not limited to first author) is expected if the residency period is 6-9 months, or two or more joint publications/patents are expected if the residency period is longer than 9 months.

To encourage the participation of department/PI’s lab management of visiting professors, SUSTech Acadamy will afford 75% of all the expenses (including all subsidy fees and research funding), while the nominating department/PI's lab should afford the resting 25% of all expenses.
